HB 10-1218
CONCERNING INFORMATION IN THE CENTRAL REGISTRY OF PROTECTION ORDERS.
Colorado has a central registry system for law enforcement officials to do checks on suspects. The central registry contains information regarding protection orders. The bill requires the highest level of felony that resulted in the protection order to be placed on the registry. Now when an officer makes an inquiry and discovers an active protection order in place the officer will know why that protection order was issued.
